The River View boys golf team pulled off a remarkable comeback during the final round of the Division II state tournament at Firestone Country Club's North Course on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2026, overcoming a five-shot deficit to capture the gold medals.
Freshman Lucas Massa fired a final-round 68 to finish as runner-up individual medalist, leading a brilliant team surge as the Black Bears posted a second-round 290 to finish with a winning effort over runner-up Kettering Alter.
The victory marks the first state golf title in River View history and the first in the history of the Muskingum Valley League.
