Severe Flooding Prompts State of Emergency in Perry and Muskingum Counties

By News Desk 🕒 Published: August 12, 2026 at 8:57 am

Severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall swept through eastern Ohio, causing severe flooding across Perry and Muskingum counties.

In Crooksville and Roseville, floodwaters submerged critical infrastructure, including an AEP electrical substation, forcing emergency workers to conduct door-to-door rescues and evacuations.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine warned residents that dangerous flooding conditions are expected to persist for several days as water levels remain high.
