Buckeye Trail senior Sam Wayble is set to compete in the OHSAA Division III State Golf Tournament at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury on October 12-13, 2026.
Wayble punched his ticket to the state tournament by capturing the East District individual medalist title with an even-par 72 at River Green Golf Course. After carding a 2-over-par 38 on the front nine, Wayble rallied with a stellar back-nine 34, sinking a clutch birdie putt on the 18th green to secure the top spot.
The senior's district crown is the culmination of a four-year varsity career as he prepares to test his game against Ohio's best Division III golfers.
