Buckeye Trail senior Sam Wayble capped off a standout high school golf career by competing against Ohio's top prep golfers at the OHSAA Division III Boys State Golf Tournament, held on October 12 and 13 at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury.
Navigating the challenging 18-hole championship layout over two days, Wayble carded a 36-hole total score of 162 to finish tied for 30th overall in a talented 72-golfer field. He opened tournament play on Monday with a strong round of 78 before closing out his career with an 84 on Tuesday.
Wayble's appearance at the state tournament marked the culmination of years of dedicated practice and served as a fitting farewell to his high school golf journey with the Warriors.
