The Sheridan Generals secured a dominant 28-8 victory over the Philo Electrics in an MVL-Big conference showdown. With the win, the Generals solidified their position at the top of the conference standings.
Sheridan opened the scoring in the first quarter when quarterback Tyce Whiteman connected with Reed Parkinson for a touchdown pass. Philo responded in the second quarter with a rushing touchdown from Slade Sprankle and a successful two-point conversion to briefly take an 8-7 lead. However, Sheridan regained control before halftime when Hoyt Gore forced a fumble that was recovered in the end zone by Jackson Morbitzer. The Sheridan defense shut out Philo in the second half, allowing the Generals to pull away.
Entering the matchup, Philo sat second in the conference behind first-place Sheridan. The win keeps the Generals in command of the MVL-Big race as they look ahead to a matchup against Tri-Valley, while Philo prepares to face John Glenn.
